'Pals' is 3 Moffat County, Colorado, mustangs showing affection and mutual empathy in an ethereal mist of the unknown. The imaginative color notes take their lead from the early last century French painter group, the 'Fauves'. It meant 'wild beasts' and was used as an epithet by an 'art critic'. The fauve look is seen in contemporary works, as it was originally meant to use arbitrary color to express strong emotional connection between artist and subject and viewer...some of the colors are 'normal', others are not...to me, even realistic subjects require and are enhanced with this aesthetic. How does this affect you as you give your eye and mind to it? I'd love to know!

When I had the pleasure of interviewing Jackson Ordean, he began by telling me he grew up barefoot and shirtless in a small art colony town on the beach..." pungent salt and seaweed smells up my nose and the natural 'music' in my ears of foamy water flowing over gravelly sand.
